Visualizer for Mixcloud
Is there a visualizer for Mixcloud on Mac?
Not in the player: the visual Mixcloud offers is Mixcloud Live, where DJs stream their own video, and on a Mac Mixcloud is the website. For visuals that follow any mix or radio show, live or not, use an app that listens to the Mac's sound. Vibresia, which we make, does that for free.

| Built-in visualiser | We couldn't find a visualiser in Mixcloud's player in any of its pages we could read. |
| On a Mac | Mixcloud's App Store listing covers iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Vision Pro, not the Mac; on a Mac it's the website. |
| In a browser | Mixcloud plays in a browser at mixcloud.com, live streams included. |
| Works with Vibresia | Yes. Vibresia hears the Mac's system audio, so it reacts to Mixcloud in the browser, with no plug-in. |

Mixcloud Live is the DJ's video, not a visualiser
Mixcloud Live lets creators stream video alongside their sets, and its own setup guide treats a webcam as optional. When there's video, it's whatever the DJ points a camera at. When there isn't, or for the archive of mixes and radio shows, there's nothing on screen that follows the music.
Long DJ mixes are a good fit for a visualiser that listens, because nobody chose visuals for them. Vibresia follows the mix as it changes, notices the beat and the bass, and keeps going for the whole set.
How to get visuals for Mixcloud on a Mac
Vibresia is a free Mac app that listens to the Mac's system audio, so it doesn't need Mixcloud to support it. Install it, allow it to hear system audio the first time it asks, and play something in Mixcloud. The visuals follow the music straight away: it picks out the beat, the bass, mids and treble and the tempo on the Mac, and nothing is uploaded.
It has 18 built-in scenes, and Auto Scan moves between them on the beat. If you want something of your own, a scene is a single GLSL function, or you can describe one to an AI assistant and have it written for you. It needs macOS 14.2 or later, Apple silicon.
Why system audio is the way to do it
A visualiser built into one music app only sees that app. Apple's own visualiser is a good example: it only works with songs playing in the Music app. Listening to the Mac's system audio instead means one visualiser works with Mixcloud, with every other music app, with a browser tab and with a film, and keeps going when you switch between them.
